First Community Credit Union — proud 2026 sponsor of the Beloit Sky Carp

$5,000 for the ALS Association, in Honor of Barry Badertscher

On September 4, 2026, First Community Credit Union presented a $5,000 check to the ALS Association at ABC Supply Stadium in Beloit. The gift was made in honor of Barry Badertscher, the Beloit Sky Carp’s Community Relations Manager.

Barry lived with ALS and kept showing up for this community. He used his time at the ballpark to help neighbors understand the disease and the families it touches. He passed away in July 2026, and the Stateline is better because he was here.

ALS is a disease that takes away a person’s ability to move, speak and breathe over time. The ALS Association funds research and supports people living with ALS and their families. You can learn more or give at als.org.
